Our story

Yikai Shao

”Ideas never leave my mind. This craft never leaves my life.

I didn’t turn this into a company for results alone.

I build as a way to think, to live, and to give form to what I believe.”

Ryan DelaCourt

”As engineers, we create what has never been, carrying ideas through constraint and consequence until they earn their place in the world. In that process, we're reminded that the purest machines are born not from trend or convenience, but from intent and discipline.”

Turning a passion into something greater is the goal for any true enthusiast. For them, it wasn’t a decision or a strategy, it was a natural progression, guided by a lifelong pull towards engineering and motorsport that ultimately brought their paths together from opposite sides of the world.

Ryan’s introduction to motorsport began as early as five years old, when his father sat him in the driver’s seat of a Darrian T90 at a motorsport institute in Wales. From that moment on, engineering became a familiar part of his world: garages, tools, workshops, and regular trips with his father to race circuits. These early experiences didn’t just inspire him, they helped shape the course of his life. As he grew older, Ryan developed his abilities through hands-on work, repairing cars and having opportunities to drive from an early age. That early foundation eventually brought him back to the very same place he had visited as a child. What had once been a motorsport institute was now a university, and the workshop he once stood in as a young boy had become the place where he would later study and work on race cars.

Yikai’s connection to engineering began long before he had the words to describe it. With no family ties to the field, his passion didn’t come from influence, but from an instinctive sense of direction that shaped his life from an early age. Determined to follow the path he had set for himself, he moved to the UK at seventeen and enrolled in college to study automotive mechanics. At the same time, he began building his own personal car in a small garage with limited working conditions. He pushed through each stage with the same resolve, going on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Motorsport Engineering and later a master’s degree in Race Engine Design. His work reflects a distinctive way of approaching problems, shaped by principles drawn from both engineering and his approach to life. This gives his designs a sense of clarity and character that comes from treating engineering not merely as a profession, but as an integral part of how he understands the world.

Ryan and Yikai met at university in Swansea, both drawn there by similar interests, but they quickly became friends through their shared passions and their beliefs in what a car both represents and should be. As they progressed through university, they worked on their own cars together, taking them across the UK to circuits to drive and race on track. These experiences strengthened their friendship and revealed something far deeper. What they felt wasn’t excitement for a passing interest, but recognition of who they truly were.

This understanding carried into life after university. Although they moved into separate careers, the vision they shared never disappeared. They stayed in touch, knowing that what they wanted to build would require experience, resources, and the right timing. They were not rushing it, they were waiting for the right moment. As those years passed, they continued developing their skills, preparing for the day they could take the next step. During this time, Yikai designed and built a complete space-frame, mid-engined track car to serve as an initial proof of concept. This served as confirmation, and shortly after, Ryan teamed up with his friend again, and together they began forming the team they had spent years working towards.

Their goal is simple: to design, build, and develop high-performance machines with authenticity, craftsmanship, and genuine passion.

This is not a faceless brand. It is the continuation of a lifelong fascination with engineering and motorsport. Shaped naturally, built honestly, and driven by two individuals who have never stopped loving what they do.
